Mine Geologist (Mining)
Jakarta

Responsibilities:

You will be involved in the permitting, exploration and all design phases of developing a large surface and/or underground, room and pillar oil shale mining and processing complex. You would also gain practical experience in the construction and operating phases. Your primary task will be planning and designing a new mine, working with senior team members on a number of activities:

• Obtaining permits and approvals for the project (exploration, mining, environmental, health and safety etc)
• Participating in geological surveys, assessments and assay programs
• Geologic and mine modeling
• Detailed mine design and planning
• Economic evaluations
• Organizing proposals, bidding and tenders
• Providing accurate and timely reports and documentation
• Assisting in other related project tasks as required

Requirements:

• Male, age 25-45 years old.
• A Bachelor’s law degree in Mechanical Electrical/Mining Engineering
• A masters degree in Mining Engineering or a related field
• Working experience in the mining or minerals extraction industry is a plus
• Strong analytical capability and an interest in industrial mining, especially underground
• Possess knowledge of rock mechanics, ventilation and room and pillar mining
• Able to log core
• A methodical approach and attention to detail
• Self motivation and ability to work to deadlines and prioritize workload
• Team player characteristics and a pleasant confident manor
• Track record in finding solutions to complex problems within deadline
• Flexibility in working in different roles / taking on different roles as the project evolves
• Independent, self-motivated, trust-worthy
